Missouri Botanical Garden (www.mobot.org)
Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical institutions in the country and a National Historic Landmark. The Garden is a center for botanical research and science education, as well as an oasis in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. Of particular interest may be the Flora of Missouri Project (www.mobot.org/mobot/missouri/), which has been gathering information on the vascular plants growing outside of cultivation in the Show-Me State since 1987. The Project is a collaboration between the Garden and the Missouri Department of Conservation.
